Job Posting: Executive Director The Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria (Part Time) About Us: The Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria is a collaborative association of professional arts organizations whose mission is to advance the important role the arts play in the life of our community. To accomplish this we will: · advocate for public sector support · work in partnership with community partners, other arts organizations and government agencies Responsibilities: The executive director is responsible for delivering the mission of the society as well as contributing to and executing the strategic plan of the organization. This position reports to the society’s Board of Directors and liaises with the President. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring productivity in the following core activities: · Achieving the primary goals and objectives of the organization as prioritized by the members and approved and directed by the Executive, · Administration - operating an arts non-profit organization, including office activities, coordination and recording of committee activities, financial management & reporting, Qualifications: The Executive seeks an individual that can be described as follows: · Motivated, passionate, and inspirational. Experience with or knowledge of arts practices and environment in BC. · Possesses highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and management skills · Excellent communicator – both verbal and written · Able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a collegial manner · Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving and changing environment · Works well in a team environment as well as independently · Demonstrated initiative to resolve problems quickly and efficiently · Organized, detail oriented with strong follow-through · Excellent computer skills · Special notice will be made of candidates qualified as above with additional strengths in any of the following areas; · Community engagement - building community participation and citizenship and - collaborating with other organizations, the community and government. · Communications - marketing, publicity and internal/external relations · Accounting – familiarity with bookkeeping practices and accounting software. · Post secondary education – ideally in arts, community and/or business administration. · Grant or proposal writing How to Apply: Please submit, via email, a single PDF file containing a cover letter, curriculum vitae and references to: Mitchell Kreiger Vice-President Professional Arts Aliance of Greater Victoria c/o
